¹⁹ Nevertheless, God’s foundation stands firm, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,”^[a] and “Let everyone who calls on the name of the Lord keep away from wickedness.”^[b]

²⁰ In a large house there are articles^[c] not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay—some for honorable use and some for dishonorable use. ²¹ So if anyone cleanses himself thoroughly from these things, he will be an instrument^[d] for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master, and prepared to do every good work.
